NEWTOWN COMMUNITY SUPPORT CENTRE

An opened access volunteer led service for people living in Bevois and its nearby wards. We provide support in completing a wide range of online forms including visa, passport, benefits, job applications and housing. We also sign post to a wide range of professional services across the city including Citizens Advice Bureau, no-limits, and steps to wellbeing .

TUVAA’s advice and support centre set up in 2017 has encouraged training, learning, sharing information and experiences that brought together and empower people in the most disadvantaged communities of Southampton. The centre supported over 600 people of all ages, gender, sex and all ages. Has helped non-English speakers with English and maths and a number of them have now successfully completed their GCSE in English and maths. Many have developed their computer skills at the centre.
